A Magical Day at Path of the Horse

A Magical Day at Path of the Horse

By The Pink-Haired Lady

Last Friday, I stepped out of my car and into a place that felt like pure magic. You know those rare moments where everything slows down, the air feels different, and joy rushes over you before you even understand why? That was me — standing at the gates of Path of the Horse, heart racing with a mix of excitement and nerves.

I was there to co-host a mental health and NDIS event alongside the incredible Michelle, Dean, and Kerryn. It was something we’d been planning and dreaming about for a while. And yet, as I stood there taking it all in, I had this little knot in my stomach. I was nervous — not just about meeting people I’d known online for so long in person, but also… the horses.

I like horses. But if I’m honest, they’ve always made me a little nervous too — there’s something mysterious and powerful about them. But any fears I had melted away almost instantly. Because these horses weren’t just horses. They were healers. Gentle souls. And one in particular — Bear — completely stole my heart with his soft nuzzles and even a few cheeky tongue kisses.

A Place Where People Don’t Want to Leave

What happened next was beyond anything I expected. People showed up — people who shared the same heart, the same purpose, the same “why.” And the energy? It was electric. Everyone kept saying how refreshing it felt to be there. It wasn’t just an event — it was an experience.

What was meant to be a simple two-hour session stretched into more than four hours. No one wanted to leave. We stood in circles talking, laughing, crying, sharing stories, and connecting. The horses worked their quiet magic, grounding us, reminding us of what matters, and creating space for conversations that don’t always happen in the rush of everyday life.

I watched people soften — including myself. I watched walls come down. And I watched the power of genuine connection unfold right before my eyes.

More Than an Event — It Was Healing

This place, Path of the Horse, is unlike anywhere else. It’s a not-for-profit run by people who pour their souls into creating a space where humans and horses heal together. And they are making a difference — a real, tangible difference — in the lives of so many.

I didn’t capture enough of it on camera (I was too caught up in the moment), but I promise I will next time. Because there will be a next time — in December, we’re coming back for something even bigger. And I can’t wait.

A Moment That Changed Everything

Six months ago, I’ll be honest — I doubted myself. I questioned why I do what I do. I wondered if it even mattered. It’s so easy to lose sight of your purpose when the world feels heavy and your heart is tired.

But then, days like this happen. And I remember.

I remember why I started.

I remember why I keep going.

I remember that connection is powerful — and community is everything.

I’m so grateful for the friends who reminded me to keep showing up, to keep being me. Because if I had given up back then, this magical day might never have happened.

We Don’t Need Flashy — We Have Heart

The truth is, we might not have all the shiny, corporate things. But what we do have is so much more important:

Friendship.

Compassion.

Love.

We’re a community built on kindness and authenticity. We show up for one another. We lift each other higher. And in a sector that can sometimes feel cold or competitive, we’re proof that being human still matters.

Just being yourself — messy, imperfect, passionate, heart-led — is enough. It’s everything.

I drove home that night with hay in my hair, dirt on my boots, and tears in my eyes — the good kind. The kind that remind you you’re exactly where you’re meant to be.

And I knew, without a doubt, that this is only the beginning of many more magical moments to come.
